Citadines Balestier Staycation

Date of Stay: 16 to 19 July 2024

A pet-friendly serviced apartment, allowing short stays too, which is something that many serviced apartments do not offer. Has a one-time pet levy, which I believe is fixed regardless of your length of stay. Very friendly and warm staff, and was given a free small goodie bag (albeit it was for dogs). No-frills stay, no gimmicks. No pet food bowl or litter tray or anything, and that is alright because my cat is more comfortable with his own.

Very clean room and building overall. Pets are allowed in the common areas, including the area around the swimming pool (not in the swimming pool). Quite spacious room, which includes a fully equipped kitchenette that has utensils, a pot and pan, plates, some cooking tools etc. Also has a mini fridge with a mini freezer section. Uses an induction cooker and quite a strong hob, so the room does not smell too strong after cooking. However, does not have chopsticks. Also does not come with any ingredients (as expected). Beautiful view of the sunset too. Toilet does not have a bathtub. Queen sized bed. Smart TV that can mirror your phone, and is adjustable.

The only thing that I was upset about was that the aircon started leaking heavily in the final few hours of our stay, and I had to do a lot more cleaning since the water fell on my items, causing me to rush a lot to make it by the check out timing.

Regarding the location, it is nearby a lot of famous food places. However, the paths are horrible for walking your pets, as they are very crowded, narrow, or just completely lacking so we had to walk on the roads. As we were pushing a stroller, it was a terrible experience navigating all the stairs in the middle of the shophouses, finding alternative paths when bins are placed in the middle of the pavements, and squeezing between people at the bus stops.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and celebrated my cat's 20th birthday!
